Olson Paint & Body Supports Teen Racing Class at Bunker Hill Dragstrip

Olson Paint and Body, a 42 year old family owned collision repair business, located in Peru Indiana, will be class sponsor of the newest IHRA drag racing class to land at Bunker Hill Dragstrip, the Teen Championship Racing class.
In 1984, Brian Olson started Olson Paint and Body, a collision repair business, out of his home garage. Olson was a custom painter and loved the painting aspect of the business far more than the collision repair side. Racers from Indy Car to Drag Racing and every discipline in between, took notice of his talent and Olson Paint and Body became the place to have a race car painted. Olson’s strong roots in drag racing, which included their family racing NHRA Comp, Superstock and Stock, cultivated relationships within the drag racing community that lead him to painting hundreds of Top Fuel and Funny Cars. Most notably those driven by Top Fuel racer Antron Brown and Vance and Hines Harleys that have competed in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class.
In 1987, the Olson family began its ties with Bunker Hill Dragstrip, when Brian started announcing for the Hullinger family, who founded the track in 1956. Sadly Brian passed away unexpectedly 2015. His son Drew, took over the family business, shifting focus from painting race cars to collision repairs and eventually adding a sign business as the demand for vinyl lettering in the racing industry began to grow.
While Olson Paint and Body has been making all of the signage for Bunker Hill Dragstrip for the past several years, this year they will increase their presence at the historic facility as sponsor of the Teen Championship Racing class. Teen Championship Racing gives youth ages 13 to 17 without a valid drivers license, the opportunity to race in their parents daily driver, with their parent or guardian in the passenger seat.
“Not only are we excited about this class that will bring more opportunities for youth to enter our sport,” explains Bunker Hill Dragsrip owner Terry McMillen, “but we are excited to have Olson Paint and Body as the sponsor. Brian Olson meant so much to the drag racing community, and as sponsor of the class his legacy will continue to have a positive impact on the sport of drag racing.”

The Olson Paint and Body Teen Championship Racing class will compete at all 15 Bellman Oil Drag Racing Series Points races. An IHRA Teen Championship license is required and can be obtained through Bunker Hill Dragstrip at any CNC Diesel Performance Test and Tune event. Helmets must be worn by both occupants in the vehicle, along with long pants, a shirt with sleeves, and closed toed shoes.
