Johnson Performance To Sponsor Modified Class in 2026
Camden, IN - Multi year track partner, Johnson Performance, will return as Modified Class sponsor at Bunker Hill Dragstrip in 2026. The small town of Camden, IN, a short drive from Bunker Hill Dragstrip, is home to Johnson Performance, a family owned and operated business, specializing in the design, construction, and maintenance of high-quality, high-performance race engines, as well as premium street and show car engines.
The Johnson family has strong multi generational ties not only to the sport of drag racing, but to Bunker Hill Dragstrip, where 2 members of the family, John and Brent, currently compete in the Johnson Performance Modified Class. While sponsoring the class doesn’t give them a competitive advantage, it does allow them to give back to their fellow racers, many of which trust Johnson Performance with their engine needs.
“Class sponsors bring us the peace of mind to post a guaranteed payout at our Bellman Oil Bracket races,” explains track owner Terry McMillen. “So for example, on a day where the weather isn’t favorable and the car count might be lower than normal, we can use the sponsorship funds to put towards the payout. We are thankful to have Johnson Performance support this class, and I know the Modified Class racers feel the same.”
In addition to the Modified Class sponsorship, Johnson Performance will be putting on 4 Johnson Performance Quick 8 races which will take place in conjunction with the class. The quick 8 is a race within a race. The quickest 8 cars in the Johnson Performance Modified class after the last time trial, will earn a spot on the 8 car ladder. The quickest qualifier will take home $50 along with each semi finalist. The runner up will win $100 and the winner will win $250 and continue on racing in the next round with the remaining racers in competition.
