Brandt’s Heating Cooling and Electrical Continue to Support Youth in Drag Racing
Bunker Hill, IN: Brandt’s Heating, Cooling, and Electrical, a Kokomo, IN based company committed to supporting youth in the community, will return as Jr. Dragster class sponsor in 2026 at the historic Bunker Hill Dragstrip.
At every Bunker Hill Dragstrip points bracket race children as young as 6 and as old as 17 compete, where 1 race winner is crowned at the end of the night. 100% of the Jr. Dragster racer entry fee is put towards the purse money, which rewards the winner, runner up, and semi and quarter finalists.
With support from Brandts Heating Cooling and Electrical, Bunker Hill Dragstrip is able to guarantee a set payout even if the entry fees don’t add up to that posted payout. The guaranteed payout is as follows: the race winner will receive $250 in prize money, a “big” check courtesy of Coan Engineering, and a commemorative Bunker Hill Dragstrip 70th anniversary trophy, while the runner up goes home with $150, semi finalist, $50 and quarter finalist $25.
“We are so thankful to Brandt’s Heating, Cooling, and Electrical for supporting our youngest racers by helping us guarantee a payout that attracts the youth of our sport to Bunker Hill Dragstrip. Not only is it exciting for the kids who get to collect money at the end of the night, but as a parent to a jr. dragster racer, it helps teach kids responsibility. My 12 year old son is using his race winnings to save for a big dragster,” explains one of the Bunker Hill Dragstrip track owners, Cori McMillen, “Since he is too young to earn money working at a job, he works to do well racing and feels accomplished when he wins money.”
The Brandt’s Heating, Cooling, and Electrical sponsorship is a blessing to the track and the jr. dragster racers that compete there, Shane Murphy, long time service manager of Brandt’s, feels the same about the partnership. “We are blessed to partner with all the sponsors at Bunker Hill Dragstrip. Especially with them celebrating 70 yrs of racing supporting local racers and racers from all over this great country that have come here and made a pass at this great place of history. We look forward to a continuing partnership to grow the most important division and that’s the future of our sport we all enjoy and love.”
